Ryan Finn Ocean Racing wins both legs of Bermuda 1-2, 2007
August 20th, 2007 Posted in America's WeltandRyan Finn of New Orleans battled the winds and waves of the Atlantic Ocean in an effort to raise awareness about Louisiana’s coastal land loss and its importance as the state’s first line of defense against hurricanes.
On June 27, Finn won the Bermuda 1-2 ocean sail. In the first single-handed leg of the race, he dominated the field in the final two days, setting a record time of 86 hours and 31 minutes or a little over three and a half days. On the doublehanded return leg, which started June 22, Ryan and co-skipper, Clark Thompson, were swept off course and staged a come-from-behind finish to win by a mere one hour and six minutes over their nearest competitor. The America’s WETLAND Campaign congratulates Ryan on his victory.
